9th Grade Season
I started the holy cows as a freshman in high school. I was 14 years old and very interested in robotics and engineering. I had seen The Holy Cows before from my middle school at High Tech Middle and had always wanted to join ever since that day in the 6th grade. It has been a great learning experience for me as I got to experience a lot about the way engineers think and got to work with a lot of great mentors such as David Berggren, who also happens to be my advisor, Jon Jack one of the leading engineering mentors of The Holy Cows, and Kiet Chau our mentor of software and electrical on the team. These are just some of the many amazing people I got to work with in my freshman year. This also doesn't include any of the upperclassmen on the team who were amazing as well. Over the course of the year I was involved with some of the design process and a lot of the scouting department. Looking back on it now I wish I had been more active with all of the build process and prototyping. At competition I was in the scouting department and worked my way up to becoming one of the main scouts by the time championships came around. Overall I did relatively well and a great and insightful experience.
